"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease."

Meet Becca Whittaker DC

Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Becca Crowther Whittaker is a Cedar City native that has been an active Dr. of Chiropractic for nearly 20 years. She was active in orchestras, choirs, sports teams, youth service groups, and dance teams and Cedar High and SUU, and while at SUU became deeply interested in the healing arts. After a local chiropractor helped her recover from severe injury to her arms and neck she decided to enter the profession so she could offer that same kind and effective healing modality to others. She continued her education at the renowned Parker University in Dallas, TX. She graduated Cum Laude with her Doctorate in Chiropractic, gaining basic certification in pediatrics, Chiropractic Acupuncture and Applied Kinesiology along the way. She previously practiced with her husband at a family-based practice in Cedar City named Whittaker Family Chiropractic, and for most of her nearly two decades of service has been the only practicing female DC in the southern 2/3 of Utah!

Dr. Becca focuses on pediatric, maternity, whole-family, athletic performance and rehab, and injury recovery. She loves serving her community and is constantly expanding her knowledge base and skill set. She had an unexpected health crisis that took her out of the practice in 2020 that left her unable to speak, read, write, walk, or even move for a few months and in a severely compromised state for years in brain and body. She has recovered over the years through wheelchairs and incredible pain to purposeful, mindful movement. Cedar City Chiropractic and Rehabilitation was a part of that healing through our integrative health facility, and she is now interested in continuing to help our community learn more about the potential for healing through multiple modalities. She hosts a podcast named “What Really Makes a Difference: Empowering Health and Vitality” , and it is focused to share her experiences, network of experts, and clinical knowledge to help others adrift in health difficulty find hope and healing. She fervently enjoys playing the cello and guitar, singing with the Red Rock Singers, enjoying the Utah landscape, connected conversations, empowering friendships, hanging out with her 4 children, and dancing wherever and whenever she can, She could not be more grateful to celebrate her restoring health or more excited to add her support to the team here at Cedar City Chiropractic and Rehabilitation!

Meet Dr. Jake  Potter DC, CME

Dr. Potter and his wife, Josie, are both from Rexburg Idaho. After dating at BYU, they decided to get married and moved back home to Rexburg to finish school at BYU-Idaho. Dr. Potter received a degree in Exercise Physiology. While there, his internship consisted of training a group of contestants for “The Biggest Winner”, a weight loss program at BYU-Idaho. He enjoyed the training and teaching of the contestants and still has a passion for improving the health of those who are seeking it. While living in Rexburg, Dr. Potter and his wife had their first 2 children, Nick, and Milo. Upon graduation, his little family decided to take a small break from school before starting the rigors of graduate school, so they moved into an RV and lived and worked in Bryce Canyon National Park for a season. The natural beauty of the area enchanted the whole family, and was a big factor in ending up in Cedar City years later. The Potters got to Missouri where Jake began the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Logan University just in time to welcome their third child, Evangeline into the family. While he was a student there in Chesterfield, MO, Dr. Potter spent time giving tours of Logan University’s anatomy/cadaver lab and enjoyed sharing the mystery and majesty of the human body with visiting groups.

He graduated cum laude and received a service award for his contributions to the school, and the students housed there. Dr. Potter’s love for meditation began during his undergraduate years, and continues to this day. He became a certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher from the School of Positive Transformation, and a certified Breath Coach through YogaBody. Dr. Potter loves sharing mindfulness, meditation, and movement advice. The Potter family moved to Cedar City in 2021 and Jake has been practicing chiropractic care here since then! The Potters had their 4th and 5th children, Felix and Alvin, here in Cedar City! Dr. Potter believes that health encompasses physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being. He takes that into account when treating patients. All areas need to be in harmony to live life to the fullest. He strives to keep them harmonious in himself, and help others live in holistic wellness. The nervous system is a connector of all of these areas. By influencing your nervous system through chiropractic care, you’ll not only feel better, but heal better. When Dr. Potter is not being a chiropractor, he loves exploring in Southern Utah, and living the foodie life. His gastronomic passions include making wood-fired pizza, recreating his favorite dishes from around the world, and crafting bean to bar chocolate in his improvised chocolate factory (RV in the backyard).
